Dinner Sausage Cooking Instructions

Smoked Sausage - Rope - All Varieties

Cut sausage into 4- to 6-inch portions. Cook sausages until steaming hot. Cooking times are estimates and may vary slightly.

Stovetop: Place sausage pieces in skillet over medium-high heat. Cook 5 to 7 minutes, turning frequently to brown evenly. Reduce heat to low. Add 1/2 cup water. Cover and cook 13 to 15 minutes.

Grill: Place sausage pieces on preheated grill over medium heat. Grill 14 to 17 minutes, turning frequently.

Microwave: Place sausage pieces in circular fashion on microwave-safe plate. Add 2 tbs. water. Cover with plastic wrap; poke 2 or 3 holes in plastic to vent. Microwave on High (100% power) 5 to 6 minutes. Turn sausage midway through cooking. Let stand, covered, 2 minutes before serving. Microwave times are estimates and will vary with microwave oven.
