Making Thanksgiving Delicious and Easy
When you’re hosting Thanksgiving dinner, you want everything to be perfect. But that can be a tall order when the entire family is coming over. Relax – Farmland is here to help.
The key to a perfect holiday meal is planning, and if you use a few time-saving tips (we won’t say “shortcuts”), a great meal is a snap. Farmland has developed two menus that will help you create a Thanksgiving meal that your guests will love, and you won’t believe how simple it is!
Spiral Sliced Turkey Dinner

- Bacon and Bean Bundles
- Baked Sweet Potatoes with Whipped Cinnamon Butter: Bake sweet potatoes in microwave oven as directed by manufacturer, then use an electric mixer to beat 1 cup softened butter with 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon until it’s fluffy.
- Tossed Lettuce Salad: To make it easy, prepare your salad at the grocery store salad bar. Serve with assorted salad dressings.
- Dinner Rolls: Purchase or prepare using canned or frozen dough.
- Pecan Pie: Purchase or make using recipe on back of the corn syrup bottle.
Tradition Ham Dinner

- Grandma’s Cranberry Salad (can be made 1 day in advance): Dissolve 2 pkgs. raspberry gelatin in 2 cups boiling water. Stir in 1 (16-oz.) can whole berry cranberry sauce and 1 (8-oz.) can crushed pineapple. Refrigerate until slightly thickened. Beat together 3-oz. pkg. cream cheese and 1/3 cup salad dressing, stir into gelatin salad along with 1 cup miniature marshmallows and ¼ cup chopped nuts. Fold in 2 cups frozen whipped topping, thawed. Refrigerate until set.
- Crescent Rolls: Purchase or prepare using can of refrigerated crescent dinner rolls.
- Apple Pie: Combine 6 cups thinly sliced, pared tart apples, ¾ cup sugar, ¼ cup flour and 1 teaspoon apple pie spice; pour into 9-inch pie crust; Cover with top crust and crimp edges. Bake at 425 degrees F for 40 to 50 minutes.
