Party Reubens

Ingredients

  • 1 (1.25-lb.) pkg. Farmland® Special Select - Bratwurst Dinner Sausage
  • 40 slices party rye bread
  • 1/3 cup thousand island dressing
  • 1 (16-oz.) can sauerkraut, drained
  • 4 ounces Swiss cheese, sliced

Preparation

  1. Place bratwurst in freezer 10 minutes to chill well. Cut each link into 16 slices. Remove casing from slices. Cook in nonstick skillet over medium heat 5 minutes or until well browned, turning once or twice. Remove from skillet and drain.
  2. Place rye bread on baking sheets. Toast each side of bread at 250°F. for 5 to 8 minutes or until lightly toasted.
  3. Heat oven to 400°F. Combine sauerkraut and dressing. Spread sauerkraut mixture on toasted bread. Place 2 slices of bratwurst on each slice. Cut Swiss cheese into small triangles and place on top. Bake at 400°F. for 5 minutes or until heated through and cheese begins to melt.
