Three Bean and Bratwurst Dinner
Beans and brats, together at last. These two come together for a hearty meal your whole family will love.
Prep Time: 70 mins.
1 package of Farmland® Boulevard Wheat Bratwurst
1/8 teaspoon of Crushed Red Pepper
1/2 teaspoon of Dry mustard
1 15 oz. can of Navy Beans, drained
1 15 oz. can of Garbanzo Beans, drained
1/4 cup of Brown Sugar
1 15 oz. can of Red Beans, drained
1/8 teaspoon of Black Pepper
1 Medium Onion, coarsely chopped
1 8 oz. can of no-salt added Tomato Sauce
1 14.5 oz. can of no-salt added, whole, peeled Tomato
1. Slice bratwurst into 1/2-inch pieces; place in large saucepan. Cook over medium heat until sausage is fully cooked and no longer pink inside, stirring occasionally; drain.
2. Rinse and drain beans. Stir beans, whole tomatoes, tomato sauce, onion, brown sugar, dry mustard, black pepper and crushed red pepper into bratwurst.
3. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove cover; continue to simmer an additional 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
